in fact you are not wrong, after all you might be one of the young people that were born under mubarak rule.
I was born a little before, while a kid, I used to listen to songs in the radio like: khally el selah sahy, om el batal, and many more, and that was the time of october war, the country had a much different flavor, we loved the country, in school we learned poems in arabic about a brave egyptian soldier who’s ready to die for his WATAN. and much more, having said that, and having felt it, I saw sadat being killed, and mubarak start to rule, it started fine but went from bad to worse, then everything in the balad started to collapse, in all fields, on all levels. not one thing that is good, not even one thing. I guess there is some 75 millions sharing the same feeling with you and me.

I liked the post a lot. In fact these feelings doesn’t tell about your feelings or those of your age alone, I think it expresses the feeling of most Egyptians. Personally I don’t share you these feelings, but actually I feel more guilty when I have this feeling of paralysis towards the country, and that I can do nothing to change the situation. As a matter of fact most of the reasons are personal even if they appear externally out of my hand.
At last I wanna say a phrase Trezza George used to say in the university “mat2olesh maser edetena eh 2ol hanedi eh lemaser”

hi guys espicialy kareem, i love your post sooo much but i disagree with you soooooooo much, please don’t say YEKHRIB BET EL BALAD.their’s no place like egypt ever, not because egypt is the most clean place on planet,or bc it’s the richest place on planet,or because it’s heaven, or bc it’s people are the most loveing people on the planet, NO because it’s MY HOME.i’m who i’m because i was brought in egypt, and i’m proud of who i’m “although i’m not perfect!!”.i’m sure that if you go to the most wonderful place on earth you will still think of egypt….because it’s your home too it’s the place where you played while you were young..make friends..study..be in mej…you are who you are because of egypt whether you like it or not, that’s the truth…..
here in america i see a looooot of egyption who hate egypt and the only is the money egypt didn’t give them money but america did and i think that’s not enough because america also steal a lot of valuable things too,and in new jersey “i will talk only upon my experiance because the imgration it a very personal thing everyone take it in deffrent way” in new jersey people aren’t angels and civilized WRONG the only thing that make people respect the system because they are affraid to pay money, they are not civilized and care no they are cowards…
any way their’s no place for me like home..i love egypt and i will always do maybe egypt didn’t give me everything i want…and you know why karem you feel you love egypt at the match and you went because egypt now give you and everyone else fun and we are selfish people are selfish we want to take so when egypt gives us something good (winning the match) HEY we are egyptian but in trubles (el abaraa,….anything else)HEY i hate egypt, yes tony treasa right:
“ask yourself what you can do for egypt not what egypt did for you”because the country is with it’s people.and if you can’t do anything it’s enough that you don’t hate egypt,
thanks karem for this post because you are not alone a loooot of people think this way,and i dream that some day we all love the place where we came from, because their is no place on earth like your home.

hi , i’m not egyptian , i’m a tunisian woman and i often travel to egypt , wallah it is the best country i visited , egyptian must be proud of their country , we know that egypt like any other country in the world suffer from serious problem , but is there a country in the world wich is perfect ? the answer is of course no , even america or europe suffer from many problems .
egypt is a safe country , egyptian are very lovely and helpful . even here in tunisia ( even if it is a small country : 10 millions people ) , we have lot of problems like poverty , illitracy ….
olso , egyptian are more then 75 millions people , so it is impossible that all egyptians live in a good way .
you have to work hard to participate in the development of egypt , oum dounya .
really i traveled to many countries and the only country that attract me is egypt , it is the most beautiful country in the world , egypt has many very good places like magic land , dream park …. , and many beautiful cities like alexandria , sharm sheikh , gharda9a , aswan….
really you have to be proud of egypt , the land of pharaon

Hi karim; i read ur post ; i agree with most of what u said.. i dont like Egypt but i dont hate it… i dont hate it coz simply i was born here and all my family and friends are here…
i hate that everything here must be with a wasta ; i hate the education system.. specially sanaweya 3amma… its the worst experience anyone can ever go through… i hate elet el nezam and the way everything is goin..
however; law 2aloli aroo7 a3ish bara and never come back 2 Egypt… i will DISAGREE
because the people here in egypt are nice and friendly… at least more than the people outside.. in the US for ex; if someone fell in the street ; no one will care; but here; everyone will come and help u stand on ur feet… i cant leave my family and friends; plus there they hate mo7agabeen and i dont wanna feel weird among them…

look guys I am egyptian and was born in egypt, however i lived most of my life abroad in many countries such as Kuwait, South Afirca, Vietnam, and London. I agree with rasha that people that live abroad are totally uncivilised but also people in egypt they have nothing to hold them back and no effective punishment. For example people in egypt grafetti on walls and in public transportation and nothing happens and whats ironic is that other egyptian just dont mind and so does most of the government they do not care!! I believe that if everyone took care of himself and just followed the rules w ra3a damero everythin in this country will change. If you karim think it is wrong that the country didnt give you a chance to develop and improve yourself, well you are doing the same thing! You didnt give the country a chance to develop; HELP THE COUNRTY AND YOU WILL BE HELPING YOURSELVS!and atleast you wont feel as bad. And please dont think that running away to another country will help, because trust me they will always treat you as if you were lower that them and they will always differentiate between you and them even if you carry their passport. Whats even worse is that people turn against you, here in london for example arabs and muslims hate eachother and will refuse to give others their rights. If the west for any reason think arabs are terrorists its because of our way, most arabs are uncivilised and arabs who are presentable are only a minority. I believe we have to stay in egypt to help it, improve it and make it once again the strongest and best country ever! Dont think Egypt is that bad, trust me there is worse much worse, in some coutries people think worms are fish and other people can just die of hunger infront of you; we may be bad, but that is all because of us IF WE IMPROVE OURSEVES WE IMPROVE OUR COUNTRY! I believe admitting there is a problem is half the way through sloving it, and thank you all for not keeping quite, thank you all for those who speak and are willing to help change. Changing youself is enough, for if everyone changed himself we wont need any help!
